Fishing lake
Our coarse
fishing lake is situated at the bottom of the hill and fed by a natural spring.
The lake
represents the ultimate in tranquillity, being totally secluded, and a haven for
wildlife, including kingfishers and snipe, Canadian geese and moorhens,
butterflies, damson flies and dragon flies.
The lake is over
an acre and is set at the farthest point from the main accommodation yet still
only a 5 minute walk from your apartment
The lake is stocked with Carp (up to about
20lb), Bream, Perch, Roach and Rudd, all to specimen sizes. The lake is not open
to the general public, but we do welcome a few very avid local people to fish on
the lake. It has therefore been only lightly fished
and many fisherman have commented on the pristine condition of our fish.
Don't expect any easy catches and expect a good fight.
There is no closed season. EA Licences are required (of course) and we request
that only barbless hooks are used. We would also prefer keepnets and boillies
not to be used.
